Speed Up Windows XP

Remove Start-Up Programs
Many programs start running when you boot up your machine and they all take their time! Many of these programs are not needed and just uselessly take up boot up time, if you want to remove any unwanted boot-up programs just;
- Start msconfig
- Select startup tab
- Uncheck all the programs you do not want started at boot
- Done
Run a Registry Scan

Disable Indexing Services
This program on Windows XP indexes and updates all of your files on your computer so that when you want to search for something it is quick, but it also constantly slows down your PC. To get rid of it do this;
- Open control panel
- Click Add/Remove Programs
- Click Add/Remove Window Components
- Uncheck the Indexing services
Increase RAM
One of the easiest ways to increase the speed of any PC on any operating system is to increase the RAM. We suggest on XP that you upgrade your RAM to at least 1GB to get some great PC speed.
Run a Disk Cleanup
You should perform this task around once every month.
- Click your Computer icon
- Right-click on the C: drive and select Properties
- Click the Disk Cleanup button
