Turn off the Sound in Flash Games in Firefox

Have you ever wanted to turn the sound down on a flash game so that you can listen to music through a media player(or you are just at work and do not want to get caught playing games)?

Most flash games have an options section or a sound section, in here you should be able to control the sound of the game.

But quite a few games do not have this function so it can get very annoying trying to play online games with loud music playing. There is another way you can control all the sounds on your computer which will mute all flash games, just follow the following steps and you can play all the flash games you want in peace and quite.

Note: This works in Windows Vista

  • Go to your Taskbar
  • Click on the Volume icon
  • Click the Mixer button below the volume control
  • In the applications area you can control the sound of flash games by muting the Firefox volume control
  • Now you can also control the sound of Internet Explorer

Now you should be able to play flash games as well as listening to your media player. As of yet I can only find a way to do this in Vista, if anyone knows any other ways of doing it please email me.
